chatapplet
Provides a chat applet. The Webinterface will be enhanced with a button labeled "chat" opens the chat applet. The user list will be splitted into users available in chat and others.
Enhanced Webinterface with user list
The chatapplet allows to communicate with other users directly. Therefore it is possible to chat with all users available in the same room (room based), chatting with other users which are in the same groups (group based) and chatting with your buddies. Online status for buddies and group members will be displayed so you are aware if it is possible to chat with them.
Due to the concept of virtual knowledge spaces the text messages send via the chat applet are available not only to chat applet users. So users using other chat clients are able to read your messages too. Possible other clients are an IRC chat client, an Instant Messenger which is able to use the JABBER Protocol (e.g. the open source client gaim) or a Shared Whiteboard
